Significant Roles in Tourism Development

Just like any tourism capital projects, the development of Mandalika zone as a tourist destination requires major infrastructure investments. The Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) engaged a project management consultant (PMC) in the early part of 2019 to assist them with the detailed design review, financial management, technical assistance, supervision, and environmental, health, and social safeguards. PMC had been tasked to assist ITDC with the procurement and direct coordination with various stakeholders, such as local and national government entities. PMC had been tasked to spearhead the procurement processes of various sub-project components of Mandalika Urban Tourism Infrastructure Project (MUTIP). PMC had been tasked to assist ITDC and its Project Management Office (PMO) to serve as an oversight when dealing with Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) being the funding agency for MUTIP Project. At the same time, PMC is managing the financial reports along with Loan Management Monitoring, which PMC created a Dashboard that provides an immediate glimpse of the financial situation, cash flow, and drawdowns. ITDC as the owner of the project established PMO to manage and execute the project and In June 2019 appointed a consortium of three consulting companies consisting of PT. Inacon Luhur Pertiwi, PT Bina Karya and PT Ciriajasa EC (aka: Inacon JV) as the Project Management Consultants to assist the PMO. The Mobilization of both National and International Experts and staff by the Project Management Consultant (PMC) was completed in the month of October 2019. With all the above-mentioned tasks, ITDC and PMO depend on the deliveries of the team of experts working under Inacon Luhur Pertiwi JV (Inacon JV) in supervising the various works within Mandallika including a portion of the MotoGP Infrastructure networks. Inacon JV’s terms of reference requires the provision of expert services to assist PMO as project management consultant. For Inacon JV to deliver the various tasks within Mandalika, Inacon JV gathered a team of experts from various countries, for example: the Philippines, New Zealand, India, United States, and Australia and of course local (Indonesian) engineers. In hindsight, Inacon has wide range of consulting services with experience managing various capital projects, not only in Indonesia but also in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Timor Leste, etc. The success of the first Superbike in Mandalika in November 2021 and the recent MotoGP event last March 2022 can be attributed to the dedication of ITDC Management and several team experts that assisted the event organizers and Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA). And the recent MotoGP events may not be called a resounding success if the essential supporting infrastructures were not present. Thus, Inacon JV is proud to announce that it has been part and significantly contributed to the success of the Mandalika Tourism Development Project in Lombok. Though, the first MotoGP is already a history now but Inacon will continue to cherish the prestige it has gained and for its contribution as the professional Project Management Consultant for ITDC, now and the near future.
