INACON poses strong experience in education sector development and
human capital strengthening, spanning basic, secondary, higher, vocational, and
religious education systems across Indonesia, Cambodia, and Mongolia, with
support from ADB, AusAID, and the Government of Indonesia. Collectively, these
initiatives focused on improving access, quality, governance, and management
of education services, while strengthening institutional capacity and alignment
with labor market and national development priorities.
Under the Science and Technology Project in Upper Secondary Education
(STEP UP) in Cambodia, activities focused on project administration,
procurement and financial management, safeguard compliance, monitoring and
evaluation, and coordination with implementing agencies to strengthen STEM
education, school leadership, and equitable access to quality upper secondary
education. In Indonesia, the Madrasah Education Development Projects (MEDP)
delivered nationwide teacher training programs covering science laboratory
management, subject content upgrading, and classroom teaching methodologies,
supported by the development of training modules, monitoring and evaluation
systems, and quality assurance mechanisms.
The Australia–Indonesia Basic Education Program emphasized improving equitable
access and governance through school infrastructure planning, site surveys,
technical design, community engagement, and support for school cluster
development in disadvantaged areas. At the tertiary level, the
Strengthening Higher and Vocational Education Project in Mongolia supported strategic
planning and policy development to improve alignment and synergy between higher
education and TVET systems, ensuring relevance to labor market demand and
long-term national development strategies. The Logistics and Technical
Support for the National e-RKAM System strengthened education governance and
financial management in madrasahs through the rollout of a performance-based
planning and budgeting system.
Key outcomes and impact of these projects include expanded access to
quality education, improved teaching and learning outcomes, strengthened
institutional and management capacity, enhanced accountability and financial
governance, and better alignment of education systems with workforce and
development needs.
